| yea for long cables |
[Jun. 18th, 2008|01:39 pm] |
So I finally did something I've been meaning to do for a long time. I set it up so that my tv can play what's on my computer. It wasn't even that difficult, just involved a couple of long cords. Well 2 50ft cords to be precise (an S-video and an audio).
My old, 32 inch crt tv doesn't look to bad for a standard input over s-video. I currently have it at 1024x768 with my desktop still at its 1280x1024 (I'm currently extending my desktop). At 1024x768, it is even mostly readable (I can make out this text on it right now).
Btw, SF Cable seems to have decent pricing for cable (the 50ft s-video cost me a whole $16.63 through them). |

| Lawyers and there crayons |
[Mar. 13th, 2008|12:48 pm] |
I saw this link in a slashdot comment. Its about some injury suit and which statute of limitations apply (what it's about is not the interesting part). It starts to pick up around the time the judge points out that the lawyers submitted there pleadings "in crayon on the back sides of gravy-stained paper place mats". |

Its amazing what I find by reading through journals of some of the people I recently friended (in this case, silvercat who according to my message center, friended me back about an hour ago). I also found this link to a Lego Batman Movie, which reminds me of my love of LEGOs. Maybe I'll dig deeper when I have the time. |

| some free games |
[Mar. 23rd, 2006|12:15 pm] |
So I was reading my Game Informer (something to do that was not programming), and I came across an article called the "Top Ten Games You've Never Heard Of". From what I gather , all the games are free and available for download. So far, I've tried Narbacular Drop and Cloud. Narbacular Drop is a 3d puzzle game where you have to get past the puzzles by moving the two sides of this portal around (like put one in in the floor and the other end on the ceiling above a push switch so the boulder falls in the one on the floor, comes out the one in the ceiling, and activates the push switch). Cloud is not so much of a game, as a lets fly around the sky, manipulating clouds to fulfill some goal. Best part of cloud is the 3d data is in .obj format (with .mtls for material properties and .tga for textures), which I know how to read (might become an encouragement for me to write that .obj viewer). |
