| I have a costume idea, but no money to make it |
[Oct. 19th, 2009|05:45 pm] |
Things I will need for this costume, - a green bowler hat - a light gray tie - a light gray band for the bowler - purple gloves - purple mask - a purple question mark to attach to the tie - optionally a black cane
everything but the cane and hat I could probably make/get made if I had scraps of fabric in the right color/sizes. For the bowler hat, a St. Patty's day hat could work, as long as its not too bright of green. If you have the appropriate materials that I could borrow/take off your hands, that would be helpful.
if you want a reference picture for what I'm trying to do, this or the one that appears in the animation here. |

| identify this patch |
[May. 25th, 2009|09:03 pm] |

I am curious if anyone knows what patch Goose has on his chest on his left side (the triangular one)? I've been able to identify everything else but that patch and its annoying me. |

So I have a Dreamwidth account now. I don't know how much I will use it over lj yet (I don't post all that often on lj as it is). Not much else to say atm (this post is mainly a hey, friend me over on Dreamwidth post). |

| so I missed the THEM meeting today |
[Apr. 23rd, 2009|09:43 pm] |
I woke up to find a text from Brandy. It led me to missing the meeting.
Vulcan Sylar was awesome! I found it interesting how they used a comic book style reset instead of just a pretend the old stuff doesn't exist. I would go into more detail, but Nate and Julia broke me out of teasing type sort of spoilers (Paramount did say they were resetting the franchise and we all know Sylar gets to play Spock). |

| me and timing |
[Apr. 18th, 2009|12:32 pm] |
Got my brakes taken care of, as well as my belts today. If you have heard my car of late, you'll understand the belts. As for the brakes, I knew I was needing to get them done soon, and they had started to make noises the last couple of days (only when hard braking). Turns out the front pads had hardly anything left on them. Great thing I decided to get this done today.
Only reason I waited this long was my normal mechanic doesn't do brakes, so I had to find someone else to do them, and the time to get it done. I ended up hitting AAA's site to see their recommended mechanics. Found The Car Shop. Called them at 9am. Got my car back at about noon. They fixed what I asked, didn't charge for the inspection, and didn't pester me about the other things that eventually need doing. They even had a free shuttle service. Next time I need repairs, I might use them over my normal mechanic (comparable service and much closer than my mechanic).
Now to figure out what to do that doesn't involve going out (101 N is closed by my place, so McClintock is being used as a detour). |

| What's Your Celtic Animal? |
[Mar. 20th, 2009|05:36 pm] |
| Your Animal is the Goose | You are are a resourceful person who needs a lot of stability in life. You rather save for a rainy day, even if it means on missing out on fun impulses.
When you feel secure, you are incredibly creative and artistic. You are also very witty. You like to invest in yourself and for the future. You like to always be learning and gaining skills. |
I input my birthday, and this meme knows my nickname. interesting. |

| Writer's Block: Half a Glass |
[Feb. 9th, 2009|12:30 pm] |
I tend to follow the notion of expect the worse, but hope for the best. And by expect, I mean plan for (its what happened when I took the boy scout motto of "be prepared" and applied it to life). I guess that would make me a realist, since it doesn't really matter if life is bad, good, or something in-between; I still need to live it (which reminds me of another one of my notions; shit happens, deal with it). |

| audio woes |
[Jan. 15th, 2009|02:33 pm] |
so I did more troubleshooting of my audio issues in connecting my pc to my tv. I get noise (including this ticking like sound) when I am plugged in from my computer to my tv, when I plug in my laptop (when its power cord is being used) from the computer side of the cable, and when the 50 ft cable is unplugged from the computer end of things. I do not get noise when I plug in headphones on the tv side of the 50ft cable, plug in my laptop (when its running on battery) on the computer side of the 50ft cable.
I think I have a ground loop (the whole no noise when laptop not plugged into wall is hooked in). Does anyone know how to eliminate these when the outputting device is on the other end of a room from the inputting device?
[edit] a ground-loop isolator I bought from radioshack solved the problem. yea for working audio from my computer. |

| I'm actually being productive |
[Jan. 12th, 2009|02:46 pm] |
Dropped something off at school to be signed. Once that's signed, get to bring it around to other people for them to sign it (that is probably going to happen tomorrow).
Went to Bookman's to use a gift card that I've had for quite some time. Didn't find any of the books I wanted (was really only looking for Dresden books I don't own), but I did get 3 DVDs (Conan the Barbarian, Shoot'em Up, and 5th Element) and a puzzle.
Also stopped by the bank to deposit my work check (got paid on Saturday). Hopefully Direct Deposit will go through this week.
Set up and used the Vacuum cleaner my mom got me. At some point I should also mop my floors (that can wait until the next time I clean the bathroom though).
I think I'm going to go watch a movie or play some games now while waiting on some email (I should be emailed when that paperwork gets signed) before going to bed. |

| so I got a job |
[Dec. 14th, 2008|01:57 am] |
|
so then, I got a job working for FedEx home delivery as a pre-loader. That's where I show up in the wee hours of the morning, and help unpack the big trucks, sort the packages into their routes (well the automated system does most of this), and then set up the packages so that the drivers can easily load them onto their vehicles. Its a permanent part-time position with decent starting pay ($10.50/hr) where I work Tuesday through Saturday. My first shift is going to be on Tuesday starting at 3am. |

| new south park 11/05 |
[Nov. 6th, 2008|01:23 am] |
|
you should watch the new south park. Its amazing that they got it out that quickly after the election. Makes me wonder what would of been different if the election went the other way (I suspect the main plot wouldn't of changed, just the reactions to the election). |
